Move Your Money

Put your money where your mouth is - literally - and show the corporate banks that crashed our economy with their reckless behavior that you're not happy with them or their services. Move your money to a local credit union or independent community bank instead. November 5th is Bank Transfer Day: http://www.facebook.com/Nov.Fifth For more info and resources about moving your money, check out: http://moveyourmoneyproject.org/ ...more »

Implement an International Financial Transactions Tax

A small tax (such as 0.5%) on trades of stocks, bonds, derivatives, and other Wall Street products could help reduce the deficit and reduce high-frequency robo-trading that causes market volatility and exacerbates bubbles, with hurting more stable buy-and-hold investment methods favored by ordinary families. Making the tax international would prevent evasion.

Bring a Speaker to Campus

Hosting a speaker is an excellent event for any conservative or libertarian group. It will attract the attention of the media and generate interest in your group. You can do it at any time of the year.

Community Health Co-ops

I've heard great things about Group Health in Washington state and Health Partners in Minnesota.

Would community health cooperatives be a viable model to reduce health insurance costs nationwide?

some ideas

If the media has such a negative outlook on the movement, then bring the attention to their door step as well. Occupy Fox news headquarters. Also if people could boycott the use of cable on a large scale i think that would send a message. I'm concerned that if things get out of hands and martial law does come into play, they will simply shut down all forms of communication. The non violent protest are giving this ...more »

Repeal the Carried Interest Tax Break

The carried interest tax break allows hedge fund managers and similar money managers at privately held partnerships to treat most of their income as capital gains, allowing it to be taxed at 15% and costing the government billions in tax revenue.

Occupy the Million Dollar View

Blogger and seasteading advocate Dmitry Orlov proposes occupying "the million dollar view" by anchoring boats just beyond the low water line outside the beachfront mansions of particularly egregious members of the 1%.
